Cave Run Lake

Cave Run Lake is considered one of the top muskie fishing lakes in the United States.  Visitors to the 8,270-acre flake near Salt Lick can enjoy boating, swimming, camping and fishing.  Cave Run is also considered one of the top 5 clearest lakes in Kentucky.

Trails

Bath County has over 100 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ATV riding and nature viewing.  The state's longest trail, the Sheltowee Trace Trail also runs through the Daniel Boone National Forest in Bath County.

Clear Creek

This picturesque area is home to numerous recreation activities that include Clear Creek Lake, picnic area, shooting range, Clear Creek Campground, White Sulphur Horse Camp, Clear Creek iron furnace, Furnace Arch and access to several trails.  Located just over a mile off of Hwy. 211 on Clear Creek Road near Salt Lick.

Rudy's Ranch & Horse Camp

A family-oriented horse camp hat offers over 50 electrical horse campsites for large trailers and RV’s.  Over4 acres of primitive camping.  In addition to camping there are over 30 miles of riding trails adjoining the Daniel Boone National Forest.  Located near Carrington Greens Golf Course, and right next door to Journey’s End Lodge. Tailwater Recreational Area

Located just below Cave Run Lake Dam off of KY-826.  The recreation area includes an opportunity to fish along the bank of the spillway, picnic pavilions, walking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, boat ramp to the Licking River and a playground for the kids.

Pioneer Weapons Area

This 7,610-acre tract, the only one of its kind in the United States, is designated for hunting with “primitive” weapons.  Hunters must use muzzle loading firearms, bows or crossbows to hunt and harvest wild game, like Native Americas and early settlers would have used. Carrington Green Golf Course

Located just 50 miles from Lexington and less than 2 hours from Louisville and Cincinnati.  The Barnyard Venue is an exciting escape for live entertainment fans.  With over 170 acres for up to 8,000 event attendees to enjoy.  The Barnyard features incredible countryside concerts and comedy shows.

Zilpo Recreational Area

Located on a 355-acre wooded peninsula extending into Cave Run Lake.  This campground features172 tent and RV campsites within walking distance of the lake.  Facilities include bathhouses with showers, some electrical RV hookups, hiking and jogging trails, scenic overlooks, a boat ramp and a country store.  The large sandy beach offers visitors a spectacular view of the lake. Waterfowl and wildlife are often seen at Zilpo.
